About Me

I study American environmental history and the historical geographies of natural resources. My research seeks to understand the ways we come to know, value, and manage in the natural landscapes that surround us and the effects of that management on the ecosystems in those landscapes and our communities.
I am currently a PhD Candidate in the Geography Department of the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. I expect to complete my dissertation, Recreation Capital: Amenity Development, Natural Resources, and the Nature of Play in Central Oregon. in the spring of 2011.
